Sunday’s heavyweight bout between Luis Ortiz and Andy Ruiz is perhaps one man’s last chance to return to the world title fight. It’s that reality that adds even more weight to the showdown between the men, who are best known for their roles as B-sides in battles against the era’s greatest heavyweights.
Lewis (34-2, 22 KOs) shocked the world in December 2019 by knocking out Anthony Joshua to win the WBA, IBF and WBO world titles. This was a perfect example of what Lewis is capable of. Speed, Strength and Combination His punches go against what the average observer would expect from his build.

Ortiz (33-2, 28 KOs) spent years as a feared member of the heavyweight division, but big fights were on the horizon for him until March 2018, when he landed a fight with WBC champion Deontay Wilder. did not do it.
Ortiz entered his first Wilder fight with a perfect record, knocking out nearly every opponent he faced. The pair met again in November 2019, and the second fight was at a much slower pace, with Ortiz definitely deserving it. Won all rounds before ending the fight.

“My intention is to knock Andy Ruiz out. One of us has been knocked out and I can assure you this won’t go to the judges. I’ve studied Andy from top to bottom.1 If I don’t knock you out with a punch, I’ll grind it down until you can’t go anymore.”

Had Ortiz done his best he could have done Martin’s job easily. That he didn’t and the way he saw it through the fight makes it really hard to pick Ortiz to get the win here. Lewis is fast for his size and looks like he’s in great shape compared to the days when he didn’t control his weight or his diet before the big fight.
