Charlotte, North Carolina (September 2, 2022) — The City of Charlotte and the Arts and Cultural Advisory Board announced additional public engagement events in September and October for residents, artists, creators, patrons and funders to inform Charlotte. share tools that can be used to Arts and culture plan.
This ten-year plan will determine how resources and funding will achieve sustainability and growth across the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region’s creative sector, and will identify opportunities for greater collaboration between individuals, organizations and other partners. increase. Planning involves listening to local communities, collecting and analyzing data, and building consensus on a shared vision for the future of arts and culture in the region.
To shape that vision and actionable steps to get there, the city continues its engagement efforts with new events, surveys and other feedback tools. This allows people of all backgrounds, generations, regions and abilities to contribute to the plan.
Residents of Charlotte Mecklenburg and those involved in local arts and culture are invited to complete a survey. This helps the city’s cultural planning team understand attitudes towards cultural activities and how people value and participate in culture. This survey is available in both English and Spanish. Additional languages are available on request.
The general public and representatives of specific creative sectors can find events related to their experience and role in the economy of arts and culture. A complete list of community events is available on the city’s cultural planning web page.

After the conversation, participants should scan their responses/notes or take a picture and send it to the cultural planning team by email at outreach@cltartsandculture.org. The Cultural Planning Team accepts responses in languages other than English and Spanish.
The Cultural Program’s efforts are supported by the city’s partnership with Infusion Fund, the Carolina Foundation, and generous private donors to support the arts and culture of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area for three years.
