This panel will shine a light on the hidden financial information that has hindered the Black community in its efforts to ensure Howard students continue to learn their skill sets and achieve financial growth in an ever-changing economy. guess
Gazi Shami was featured in Rolling Stone magazine’s “Future 25”, which celebrates the brightest, most daring ideas tearing the floorboards of the music industry right now. As previously mentioned, Gajishaj, which operates his own music distribution company and his record label Empire, was founded in 2010 but has grown into a global company with influence in Nigeria, Asia and Jamaica.
Shami is of Arab origin and started making records at the age of 14 as an honor student. In his early years he excelled at computers his software, and at 18 he got a job in a white-collar corporate setting, but spent his nights making records in the studio. Shammi describes this experience as allowing him to judge his character by looking at different aspects of his life.
Ghazi Shami attributes his success to continuity and hard work. Shami is the CEO of a large company and has met everyone who works at his company. Shami made a conscious decision to hire for personality, not skill set. His reasoning behind this is, “I can’t teach a character, but I can teach a skill set.”
When asked how Howard students want internships at companies like Empire and how to stand out in the hiring process, Gazi responded: Calmness is also something we look for, because the music industry has so much pressure and so many people can’t handle it. People act more on emotion than logic, and acting on emotion can often cost millions of dollars. ”
When working on investments, Shammi relies on foresight and understanding and incorporates it into the follow-through process. Since cryptocurrency is a new form of currency, this online transaction will give him 24-hour financial access. This access creates cultural and economic freedom. A user can use cryptocurrencies to bypass banks as he can transfer money in 30 seconds to 1 minute as long as he has a cryptocurrency wallet. It’s all about consumer trust that develops over time.
Ghazi Shami is also very skilled with NFTs. NFTs are non-fungible tokens and are typically created using the same type of programming used for cryptocurrencies.
Shami describes NFT as a partnership between digital and physical media,
Certificate of Authenticity. He started investing in his own company and then in his other companies. This became a huge workload for someone with so many responsibilities. Shami explains to his students that stepping up is also taking a small step back.
