Festival first, then theater openings – the local entertainment scene is packed out over Labor Day weekend and into next week. Not including the Kansas City Air Show, the Kansas City Symphony’s season opener, and big wrestling and rock icon Roger Waters.
The long-standing Kansas City Irish Fest at Crown Center and Santee Caligon Days at Independence Square, both starting Friday, are highlights of the festival schedule.
20th Annual Irish Fest with live music, shopping and more open from 5-11pm on 2nd September and 11am-11pm on 3rd-4th September . For tickets ($20-$70) and more information, visit kcirishfest.com.
With Little Texas and Lone Star as musical headliners and hundreds of exhibitors joining the carnival, Santi Caligon Days is free. Hours of operation are noon to 11pm on September 2nd, September 3rd to He 4th 10am to 11pm, and September 5th 10am to 5pm.
Also in Bonner Springs, the Kansas City Renaissance Festival runs for six weeks on September 3rd.
