Seattle-based indie-folk hero Rocky Votrat ‘s next single “Becoming Human” has been released. wild roots – First album in over 7 years – Spartan Records and Thirty Something Records (Europe/UK) will release on September 9th.
Rocky describes the song as follows: I wrote this for my son, Keenan, who died in a car accident last year. I am comforted by the fact that they were able to hear it before they died and told me how much they loved it. It’s for the world now. ”

wild roots Produced, engineered and mixed by Votlert himself, it features an excellent line-up of musicians that perfectly complement the delicate nature of these songs — piano, strings by Abby Gundersen (William Fitzsimmons) arrangement, vocal harmonies, James McAllister (Sufjan) Stevens, National) on drums and percussion, Phil Vanscher (Whiskeytown, Jesse Sykes, Sweet Hereafter) on electric guitar, Marcel Gaine (Perry・Opperson) participated in the electric guitar.
