Christian Yelich did something he’d never done before Tuesday, hitting a 499-foot ball and hitting one of the biggest home runs ever seen. Measured as the longest home run in the majors, it was the third longest since the statcast was introduced in 2015 and the longest home run ever recorded by a left-handed hitter at Coors Field. , certainly helped by Denver’s thin air, but this would have gone nowhere and well above Yelich’s previous career-best of 462 feet.
