If you love bacon, you can celebrate your craze at the Modesto Bacon Festival. Also planned for September 10-16 are his two festivals, music and Latinx talent shows in the Modesto and Mother Road areas.

Celebrate the broader love of bacon at the Modesto Bacon Festival. Attendees can expect plenty of bacon delicacies, vendors, cornhole tournaments, face painters, DJs and live music. Craft cocktails, beer and a full bar are also planned.

Acorn Festival
The Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians hold the Acorn Festival in Tuolumne, an annual celebration. Intertribal powwows, barbecue dinners, Indian tacos, traditional dancers, indigenous arts and crafts, and more.

Picnic at the Pops
The popular outdoor concert ‘Picnic at the Pops’ returns to Modesto. Michael Kavanaugh plays the music of the Modesto Symphony Orchestra and Elton John. Patrons often pack to enjoy picnic dinners, but alcohol is not permitted. Wine and other beverages are available for purchase.

latino talent show
¿ Got Talent? is an “American Idol”-style talent show at the State Theatre, featuring a lineup of up-and-coming Latino performers. The grand prize will be decided by the judges, but the viewer-chosen winner will be chosen by the patrons.

Modesto Railway History Talk
Southern Pacific Railroad depot historian Jean-Guy Duvet will discuss the design and history of Modesto’s three depots and other depots in the San Joaquin Valley. Hosted by the Modesto Museum of Art, the event showcases rare photographs, maps, and ephemera of Modesto and the Southern Pacific Railroad.

Scottish folk song
