featured image

Week 1 of the NFL is always a mess. A good team loses to a bad team, high expectations are disappointed, and all you can hope for is survival.

The Eagles survived by defeating an energetic Lions team in Detroit to win the first game of the season. This was no small feat when preseason darlings like the Packers, Broncos, Bengals and Rams were all brought down.

And while there’s a lot to clean up, that win and quite a few highlights from Sunday’s victory will have football analysts across the country dazzled by the Eagles heading into their primetime Week 2 showdown. is enough for

“This offense is going to be a problem for the team. The Eagles rolled up 455 yards on 10 possessions in a 38-35 win over the Lions, giving hard-knocking darlings a fun shootout in the air and on the ground.” New No. 1 wide receiver AJ Brown was a ready-to-play playmaker (10 catches for 155 yards on 13 targets), but the tandem of Jalen Hurts and Myles Saunders was a solid one. Rushing behind a solid offensive line, he has the potential to turn a filly into a player, a nightmare matchup not just for young and inexperienced defensemen like Detroit, but for any opponent. grit.

“Philadelphia had a league-best 159.7 yards in 2021, but no player had more than 800 total yards. On Sunday, the Eagles scored another 216 ground balls, including RB Myles Saunders for the first time since 2020, with four total yards. 100 players sprinted for the TD.”

“Jordan Davis, the 13th overall pick from Georgia, played 22 defensive snaps (32%) against the Lions and made the most of his chances. The Eagles were injured, gaining 181 yards on 28 carries (6.5 average), but were far from vulnerable when Davis controlled blockers on the field and reworked the line of scrimmage. I didn’t think so. He increased his playing time from Monday night’s game against the Vikings.”

“The Eagles integrated AJ Brown and planned their ground game well. A middle-of-the-road defense with a down-by-down success rate wasn’t what we wanted, but the Lions have given us credit. It’s tougher than it is.”

“What’s more important? 2nd best offensive performance of the week by EPA per drive against a defense that finished 29th in the 2021 Defense DVOA, or rank 29th in 2021 Is it to give up the week’s third-best offensive performance against an offense that ended Offensive DVOA in 2021? Kudos to him for scrambled the Eagles to victory against a defense and continuing the connection he showed with Brown over the summer.

“However, from first-round pick Jordan Davis (who played the fifth-most-snap defensive tackle for the Eagles) and expensive passes, to defenses that were on paper upgraded in the offseason at every level, the early 2018 There are very real concerns: Defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon is cutting back on his job as Jefferson and the Vikings come to Philadelphia for Monday Night Football.”

“Don’t pay attention to the 38-35 score. The Eagles were leading 38-21 in the fourth quarter against an underrated Lions team, but they took their foot off the gas. I can confidently say that Philadelphia is the best team in the NFC.”

“Jaylen Hurts had his eye on an early pass, but the Eagles offense looked balanced and unstoppable in Detroit as he ran and threw in his new go-to weapon, AJ Brown. Delphia have a clear new hole in their defense and will need to keep scoring big…”

jeez. This is a Top 8 respect for the Byrds in just one week. And what about the ‘best team in NFC’ yells? I wrote last week that the Eagles Hype Train is in motion. It may be a full-fledged Hype Shinkansen now.

Of course, the next 17 weeks are like this, and then we have the postseason. No team’s story is written by him in a week. I don’t think the Eagles are the best team in the NFC right now, and I’m pretty worried the Vikings will expose the Eagles’ shortcomings on the national stage.

So far the Eagles are undefeated and apparently everyone loves them. wild.
