South Texas Latina-Owned Business Makes National Debut at Target for Hispanic Heritage Month

brownsville, texas – After years of hard work and dedication, a small Latino-owned business in South Texas hopes to inspire Latinos across the country with an exclusive new collection in Target stores. and made their national debut.

Based in Brownsville, Texas, JZD is owned by wife duo Jennifer Serrano, 30, and Veronica Vazquez, 32.

The couple started the business in 2016 when Vasquez quit his job and made the leap to run a full-time small business. Laid the foundation for the two with an Etsy shop, $200, and a dream.

“[Jennifer] was a creative genius, and when she told me about the idea, I said, ‘Let’s do it,’ and we invested in it,” Vasquez said.

Demand for the product began to rise and Vasquez could no longer be the only full-time employee. Serrano said the two “gambled” and both became full-time employees with steady incomes.

After becoming a full-time JZD employee, the brand signed its first major retail partnership with Target for LatinX Heritage Month. As of Sunday, September 4, JZD’s products can be found on the retailer’s website and in his more than 1,500 Target stores nationwide.

The exclusive capsule collection includes t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, jewelry and stationery designed around the ‘Corazon Latino’ celebration.

The pieces are inspired by the growing beauty of the Hispanic community and pay homage to our ancestors and their sacrifices.

The couple recalled feeling pure shock when Target reached out in hopes of building a business relationship and collection.

“It was like a dream come true. After confirming it wasn’t a scam, we jumped on the phone with them and started the process.

Women with immigrant roots feel they are living the American dream, so they are happy to take the chance.
