The Buffalo Bills and ADPRO Sports are proud to once again partner to recognize the best coaches Western New York has to offer through the 2022 High School Football Coaches of the Week program.
Bills and ADPRO Sports will present a Coach of the Week award to the national team’s head tackle football coach, highlighting not only the team’s achievements on the field, but also some of the work they do off the field in their communities. Both regions’ Coaches of the Year will be elected during the January 2023 game between the Buffalo Bills and the New England Patriots at Highmark Stadium.
Each Coach of the Week winner will receive a $1,000 grant from the Buffalo Bills and ADPRO Sports. Each Coach of the Year winner will receive an additional $1,000 towards the program. The winner will be chosen by a panel of local high school football experts.
Buffalo Regional Coach of the Week # 1
Roy Hart/Barker/Lyndonville coach Joe Sur was named the Buffalo regional coach of the week after leading the Silverbacks to a 22-20 victory over Alden in the season opener.
The Silverbacks trailed 20-6 late in the third quarter before starting the rally. Roy-Hart scored his TD to tie with less than three minutes remaining, then he scored his PAT of two points for the winning margin. RBL sealed the win by turning 4 and 1 late in the fourth quarter.
Coach Suhr is in his third year as the Silverbacks coach, helping the program move from an eight-man football team back to an 11-on-11 football team. One of Coach Schur’s main objectives as a coach is to provide the children in his community with the opportunity to play football. In addition to his duties as a college football coach, Coach Suhr teaches history and coaches college wrestling at the Lyndonville CSD.
As director of Lyndonville’s Youth Wrestling Club, Coach Suhr hosts several fundraising events throughout the year to help athletes raise money for camps and volunteers. A community organization with which Coach Suhr is heavily involved is the Madison Nation, a charity that raises funds for families with children battling childhood cancer.
To grow the game of football in his community, Coach Suhr has helped run an elementary school’s flag football program and has previously coached a local youth football program.
Coach Suhr is responsible for growing the varsity program and developing players throughout the year, including establishing USA Football tackle protocols, hosting weekly team-building dinners, building weightlifting programs, and participating in 7on7 off-season football. have taken many steps to
Rochester Area Coach of the Week # 1
East Rochester/Gananda coach Tim Rose was named Rochester Area Coach of the Week for Week 1 after leading the Bombers to a 32-12 victory over Vertus High School.
In the win over Vertus, East Rochester rushed for over 300 yards, scored five touchdowns on offense, and totaled eight sacks on defense, giving Coach Rose his first win as an ERG head coach. helped
Coach Rose, a first-year head coach who was named to replace Brian Turanjo in February, served as special teams coordinator last season. Coach Rose is in her fifth year teaching middle school health and physical education in East Rochester.
Last season, the Bombers finished 12-1 and won the Section 5 Class C title, advancing to the Class C State Semifinals for the first time in school history.
