This intensive 10-week session is designed to:

This course provides the basic principles of design used by the great masters of Western art.
Students will learn:
~ Recognizing design principles in observed natural structures
~ Evaluate specific proportions and shape features of an object
~Organize 3D volumes and surfaces
~ Illuminate and express shapes with light and shadow
~ Arrange subjects using the ancient geometric principles of the Golden Section
~ Detect these same characteristics in the works of accomplished master artists and be guided by their example, regardless of technique or style choice
