Citizens Bank of Kansas recently announced the addition of Jessica Fuller to its staff to lead its branch at Derby High School. Fuller is chairman of her DHS business department and within high school she will serve as CBK’s education manager and continue to teach. She has now been teaching at DHS for her 19 years.

Potential applicants are typically approached at the time of enrollment, followed by two weeks of training in the summer at either the Rock Road or Buckner branches to prepare for clients when classes return to session in August.
“I love the real-world experience that’s offered to kids at home without having to drive to observe or work at another bank,” Fuller said. It’s wonderful.”
DHS chapters typically have 4 to 6 interns, and the internships continue throughout the academic year. Already a strong program, Mr. Fuller wants to expand the program and tie the program to more job opportunities for seniors in his second semester.
Aside from interns, Fuller said the program will be of great benefit to DHS students overall, providing an opportunity for all students to begin learning about financial responsibility and gaining access to local banks within the school. rice field. Since school started, she has found that DHS chapters have already opened her 15 to 20 Panther accounts in a matter of weeks. DHS also earns income from the Panther Debit Card Program, which is donated annually by CBK to schools.
While interns gain expertise in the financial industry, the customer service and time management skills they gain can also be of broader use, says Fuller. She said many interns go out to talk about their experiences in other district buildings, another important component of her program. This program has led to many interns continuing her employment at CBK.
“The really cool thing that we’re very proud of is that many of them are hired by Citizens Bank of Kansas to work on Saturdays and in the summer,” Fuller said. “This is a great program and I am happy to continue. I am happy to be a part of it.
