Keira Walsh: Barcelona agree world-record fee for Manchester City and England midfielder | Transfer Center News

Barcelona have agreed a world-record transfer fee for midfielder Keira Walsh with Manchester City.

Walsh is now free to discuss terms and arrange medical care with the club.

There is little speculation about the potential fee, with some sources suggesting it to be around £350,000, while others suggest it could be higher in the long run.

Sunday, September 11, 6:30 p.m.

19:00 kick off

The previous world record is believed to have been Pernille Harder’s £300,000 move from Wolfsburg to Chelsea in September 2020. However, the final fee has not been disclosed, as US trading includes an allocation fee and trading assets.

Manchester City have reluctantly agreed to sell Walsh after turning down several offers from Barcelona this summer. Walsh is in the final year of his contract and is keen to make the move.

Man City are looking to replace Walsh before Thursday’s WSL transfer deadline.

Walsh played a key role for England as they won Euro 2022 this summer, being named man of the match in the Lioness’ final victory over Germany at Wembley.

Since making her City debut in July 2014, the 25-year-old has scored eight goals in 189 appearances for the club. She has 49 caps in England.
